During the panel session on energy at the III Tashkent International Investment Forum, a project for the construction of the Kambaratinskaya HPP-1 was presented, along with information about the Chatkal HPP and the energy potential of Kyrgyzstan. This was reported by the government's press service.

The head of the government, Akylbek Zaparov, talked about Kyrgyzstan's energy potential, the master plan and location of the Kambaratinskaya HPP-1, investment indicators and advantages of the project, aspects of improving water resource management in Central Asia as a whole, and in the electricity market in the region.

"The Kyrgyz Republic today has a high energy generation potential. In Kyrgyzstan, almost all generated energy is green, as it is derived from hydroelectric power. We have only utilized about 13 percent of our potential so far. Considering the global challenges and trends in green energy development, the cabinet of ministers has actively begun implementing energy infrastructure projects. The strategically important large-scale project for the construction of the Kambaratinskaya HPP-1, which is significant for the entire region, is also gaining new momentum," said Akylbek Zaparov.

Earlier, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan signed a roadmap for the construction of the Kambaratinskaya HPP-1. According to experts, the total installed capacity of the Kambaratinskaya HPP-1 will reach 1,860 megawatts and will generate 5.6 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity per year.

Also, information about the project for the construction of HPPs on the Chatkal River was presented at the forum session. "Work is underway to implement energy projects for the construction of a cascade of HPPs on the Chatkal River, as well as the cascade of Kazarmanskaya HPPs on the Naryn River. Our country needs foreign investments for the development of the energy sector, which is the main sector of the economy, and we are ready for close cooperation in this area. We invite foreign companies to consider the possibility of participating in the construction of small and medium HPPs and renewable energy sources in Kyrgyzstan," said the head of the government.

Akylbek Zaparov emphasized that special attention is paid to the energy sector, adding that the projects for the construction of the Kambaratinskaya HPP-1, the cascade of Kazarmanskaya HPPs, and the 500-kilovolt power transmission line "Kemin – Torugart" have been designated as "national" status.

Furthermore, for participants of the III Tashkent International Investment Forum, the Ministry of Energy organized an information platform on energy projects being implemented in the Kyrgyz Republic and the country's energy potential. Representatives of government structures, international organizations, and financial institutions from 93 countries took part in the forum.
