President Sadyr Japarov Visits Injured Children After Tragic Accident in Kyrgyzstan

President Sadyr Japarov today visited children at the City Children's Clinical Hospital of Emergency Medical Care in Bishkek, who were hit by a truck during a mass event in the Suzak district of the Jalal-Abad region. This was reported by the press secretary of the head of state, Askat Alagozov, on his Facebook page.

Ten children injured in the incident, whose condition is described as severe, were airlifted to the capital on May 3rd by a special plane.

The head of state had discussions with doctors, parents of the children, and their accompanying relatives. He instructed to engage the best specialists for the treatment of the injured.

"In a conversation with the parents of the children, Sadyr Japarov emphasized that measures will be taken against those who showed negligence towards safety measures at the mass event," the statement said.

Incidentally, today the chief of the Suzak District Department of Internal Affairs, his deputy, and the chief of the Oktyabrskoye settlement police department were dismissed from their positions for this. Additionally, 12 law enforcement officers have been held accountable.

The incident marked the end of the competition of young manaschis in the village of Jerg-Tal in the Suzak district of the Jalal-Abad region. The event took place on the dzhailoo, where schoolchildren recited excerpts from the epic "Manas." During the recitation, a truck rammed into the gathering teenagers. 35 people were injured, with 20 currently hospitalized. The driver has been detained, and a criminal case has been initiated.
