Truck Crash at Manaschi Competition Leaves 19 Children Injured in Kyrgyzstan

In hospitals, there are still 19 injured children as a result of a truck crashing during a manaschi competition in the village of Zherge-Tal. This was reported by the Minister of Health, Alymkadyr Beyshenaliev.

According to him, there are ten patients in Bishkek, three of whom have undergone surgery. The condition of the patients is stable, of moderate severity. Four are in intensive care, while the others are in regular wards. In Jalal-Abad, nine children are receiving treatment in the hospital. Five of them are in moderate condition, others are in satisfactory condition, and one has been discharged. All others are receiving conservative treatment. The situation is under control, said the Minister of Health.

The tragedy marked the end of the competition for young manaschi in the village of Zherge-Tal in the Suzak district of the Jalal-Abad region. The event took place on the dzhailoo where students recited excerpts from the epic "Manas." During the recitation, a truck crashed into the gathered teenagers. A total of 34 people were injured. The driver has been placed under house arrest.
