The situation regarding measles in Kyrgyzstan remains tense, with over 4,800 cases registered in the country as of March 5, 2024. The virus is circulating intensively in Bishkek, Jalal-Abad, Chui, and Osh regions.

Training sessions are taking place in the capital as well as in the Chui and Jalal-Abad regions. The main goal of the training is to enhance the capabilities of healthcare professionals to increase public awareness.

The program includes information on measles and rubella, details about the epidemiological situation in the country, instructions on vaccine administration, discussions on medical contraindications, and precautions during vaccination. This training will help healthcare workers establish effective communication with the population, especially with parents of children who will be receiving the immunization, according to the Republican Immunoprophylaxis Center.
