Bishkek Mayor Assists Children After Tragic Accident at Manaschi Competition

Mayor of Bishkek, Aybek Djunushaliev, provided financial assistance to children affected by the accident in the Suzak district. The municipality's press service reported that the city mayor, along with the speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, Nurlanbek Shakiev, and the Minister of Health, Alymkadyr Beyshenaliyev, visited the children at the City Children's Clinical Hospital for Emergency Medical Care.

According to medical staff, the children's condition is improving, and if necessary, additional tests will be conducted for their full recovery.

Each injured child has been allocated 50,000 soms from the mayor's reserve fund for further treatment and rehabilitation, as noted by the municipality.

There are ten children in the City Children's Clinical Hospital for Emergency Medical Care. Four of them have been hospitalized in the intensive care unit, while the others are in the traumatology department. Today, one child was transferred from the intensive care unit to the neurotraumatology department, showing signs of improvement. Soon, a child with a leg fracture will undergo surgery.

The competition of young Manaschi in the village of Zherge-Tal in the Suzak district of the Jalal-Abad region ended in tragedy. The event took place during the jaiyloo, where schoolchildren recited excerpts from the epic "Manas." During the recitation, a truck hit the gathered teenagers, resulting in 34 casualties.

The driver has been detained, and a criminal case has been initiated under Article 312 (violation of traffic safety rules and operation of vehicles) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Following the incident, the head of the Suzak district police department, his deputy, and the head of the October territorial police department were dismissed.

In the interest of safety, the Ministry of Education and Science has canceled all mass events involving schoolchildren.
