The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic has released a statement addressing the dissemination of false information about the situation in the country by destructive forces through foreign media outlets and social networks, particularly in Pakistan.

The foreign policy department reiterated that the current situation in Bishkek is completely calm and under full control. All necessary measures have been taken to ensure security, peace, and stability.

The Ministry is urging representatives of the media, bloggers, and foreign colleagues to rely only on official and verified information from competent authorities in Kyrgyzstan.

The spontaneous protest against foreigners that began yesterday evening in Bishkek concluded only in the early hours of May 18. Police managed to negotiate with the participants, who then opened Chui Avenue and dispersed shortly after. According to the Ministry of Health, 29 people were injured during the protests.

Following the brawl on May 13 at a hostel, which was one of the reasons for the protests, the police detained four Egyptian citizens. A criminal case has been initiated under the article "Hooliganism" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
