Japanese Company Nikken Sekkei Ltd to Develop Urban Master Plan in Bishkek

Japanese company Nikken Sekkei Ltd is planning to develop an urban master plan (General Plan) taking into account all the needs and conveniences of the capital city residents. This was reported by the press service of the city hall.

According to the information, a memorandum of cooperation in the field of urban planning, urbanism, and architecture between the Bishkek city hall and the company was signed at the SusHi Tech Tokyo 2024 forum in Japan.

The city hall noted that Nikken Sekkei Ltd is a leading Japanese company offering comprehensive solutions in the field of architecture and urban planning, focusing on ecological and economic sustainability, functionality, and forward-looking attractiveness. The company has implemented numerous large-scale projects worldwide, such as the Greenland Center in Shanghai, the Singapore Railway Corridor "Line of Life", the development of the "smart" city of Krasnoyarsk, the master plan of the northern part of Riyadh, the new financial district of the port city of Colombo, Forte Towers - the Dubai Opera District, many projects in Japan, the master plan of the central part of Vladivostok, strategic urban planning of Moscow (Rublevo-Arkhangelsk "smart city"), and others.

The development of the Bishkek master plan will be the company's first urban planning project in Central Asia.

Furthermore, during the visit to Japan, Mayor Aibek Junushaliev participated in SusHi Tech Tokyo 2024.

"The event serves as a major platform for dialogue, bringing together 48 city leaders from five continents to exchange ideas and discuss advanced technologies and strategies aimed at the sustainable development of cities," the city hall noted.

The municipality emphasized that Bishkek was the only city from Central Asian countries represented as an honorary guest at SusHi Tech Tokyo 2024.

Aibek Junushaliev spoke at the program for city leaders, presenting the city hall's efforts to promote zero emissions, improve the ecological situation in the capital. He shared Bishkek's experience in implementing sustainable solutions and digital technologies that help the city develop and adapt to modern challenges, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation in addressing global issues.

The main goal of Bishkek's participation in SusHi Tech Tokyo 2024 was to establish new partnerships, exchange knowledge, and gain advanced experience for the city's further development.

Aibek Junushaliev expressed confidence that participation in this event will open up new opportunities for Bishkek and help implement the latest technologies in the city's infrastructure.
