A strong wind on March 28 led to disruptions in the power supply in parts of the Tashkent region and gas supply in one of the capital's districts, the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan reported. At 9:33 am, the 110 kV power transmission network "L-K-D" with a capacity of 60 MW was disconnected in the capital. As a result, 12,550 consumers in the Pskent, Kuyichirchik, and Urtachirchik districts of the Tashkent region were left without electricity, along with small industrial enterprises. At 10:20 am, in the Khirmontepa neighborhood of the 19th quarter of the Chilanzor district of Tashkent, the wind uprooted a large tree, causing it to fall on a 50 mm low-pressure gas pipeline.
Consequently, 768 apartments in 16 multi-story buildings in this area were temporarily disconnected from the gas supply. Emergency crews are currently working to address the consequences and restore the electricity and gas supply.
