The Minister of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan, Pulat Bobojonov, announced a significant decrease in fees for re-registration of vehicles and trailers, as well as for electric cars and motorcycles, through an order issued on May 3rd (announced on May 6th).
On April 1st, the rates for registration and re-registration of cars increased significantly. Following the increase, the cost of vehicle registration rose substantially. In a new order, fees for re-registration of cars and electric cars were reduced back to the initial levels. However, the increased registration fees for regular cars and electric cars remained unchanged.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Traffic Safety Department (SBDD) have yet to clarify the reasons behind the sudden increase in registration rates for vehicles.
