Uzbekistan's Population Exceeds 37 Million, with Continuous Growth

The permanent population of Uzbekistan surpassed 37 million on the night of April 22, 2024, according to the statistics agency's website. Of this number, over 18.6 million are male, and more than 18.34 million are female. Many internet users monitored the counter page and captured the moment it hit exactly 37 million at 3:24.

As of the publication of this news, the counter shows an increase of nearly 500 people. The State Agency "Gazeta.uz" clarified that the real-time data is obtained from the civil registration authorities. On April 1, the country's permanent population was 36,963,262. Thus, the growth in less than a month amounted to 36,738 people, or 0.1%.

Since the beginning of the year, with a population of 36,799,800 people, the increase has been over 200,000 people, averaging more than 50,000 per month. In 2023, Uzbekistan's permanent population grew by 774,900 people, or 2.2%, a figure that has been increasing annually since 2020.

Permanent population refers to those residing continuously in a specific locality or district at the time of registration, including those registered in the region but temporarily not living there.
