Expansion of "Special Angle" Project to Karakalpak Language

in News / Uzbekistan - by

The "Special Angle" project, covering the main events of the week involving the President of Uzbekistan, is now available not only in Uzbek and Russian but also in the Karakalpak language. The latest episode, released by the presidential press service on Monday, is dedicated to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's visit to Dushanbe, where a Treaty of Alliance was signed, highlighting Uzbek-Tajik relations.

Presidential spokesperson Sherzod Asadov shared with "Gazeta.uz" that creating content about the president's activities in Karakalpak was a long-planned initiative. During trips to Karakalpakstan, positive feedback was received from local youth and journalists on the formats used for coverage, prompting the decision to produce content in Karakalpak.

With the support of the Jokargy Kenges and the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan, a dedicated team in Nukus was established, resulting in the Karakalpak version of the "Special Angle." Initially launched in January 2021 as a special report format focusing on the president's visits to regions and foreign countries, the project transitioned to reels for social media platforms since November 2023 to engage a wider youth audience.

Sherzod Asadov mentioned that forming the team for the Karakalpak versions and organizing operations in Nukus took time, hence the delayed release of the first Karakalpak video. Moving forward, these videos will be regularly published alongside other versions. Currently, the "Special Angle" project is the only content available in the Karakalpak language from the presidential press service, but they intend to explore further opportunities to increase Karakalpak content.
