The Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction has published a list of the top 10 largest employer companies in Uzbekistan, where a total of over 236,000 employees are currently working.
As of April 29, the list of companies with the highest number of employees includes:
- Navoi Mining and Metallurgy Combinat - 48,308 employees;
- Almalyk Mining and Metallurgy Combinat - 36,629 employees;
- Temir-Yul-Infra-Tuzilma (engaged in railway infrastructure) - 34,816 employees;
- Regional Power Grids - 20,873 employees;
- Joint Uzbek-American enterprise Romstar (owns textile enterprises) - 18,800 employees;
- Uzbektelecom - 17,641 employees;
- UzAuto Motors - 16,628 employees;
- Khududgaztaminot - 16,309 employees;
- Uzbekneftegaz - 13,926 employees;
- Anglesey Food (owns the supermarket chain Korzinka.uz) - 12,726 employees.
