During a meeting on March 12th, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed to expedite the construction of residential complexes "Yangi Uzbekiston." Construction has begun in 38 regions, with plans to build 17 more complexes this year. However, some regions are experiencing delays, such as Surkhandaryo, Andijan, Tashkent, Samarkand, and Syrdarya.
The President directed the approval of a detailed list of complexes and to speed up construction work, emphasizing the importance of quality, adherence to deadlines, and cost-efficiency. He set a deadline of July 1st to complete the construction of 474 houses in the "New Uzbekistan" complexes and put them into operation.
Vice Prime Minister Achilbay Ramatov was tasked with weekly monitoring of the implementation of these directives. President Mirziyoyev highlighted the necessity to rapidly increase housing construction to meet the growing population's needs, stressing the importance of not relying solely on government funds but also attracting investments for renovation projects.
Reports from the Fergana region indicate progress in the construction of the "New Uzbekistan" complexes in Fergana, Fergana, and Yazyavan districts, with the completion of 74 multi-story buildings and a 75-hectare park. Furthermore, four Chinese investors are planning to invest $170 million in housing construction in the Fergana region.
In late January, the President tasked the Prime Minister to assess whether the hokims of the 16 districts, where no multi-story buildings were constructed last year, are suitable for their positions. The government's commitment to addressing housing needs and accelerating construction projects is crucial for meeting the demands of the growing population and ensuring sustainable development in Uzbekistan.
