The National Leader of the Turkmen People, Gurbanguly, has emphasized the importance of cultural diplomacy in promoting Turkmen culture. According to the online publication "Vestiabad," T. Babaeva, a teacher at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, discussed collaboration with international organizations, particularly TURKSOY.
Following a meeting of the permanent council of TURKSOY member countries, the Turkmen city of Anau has been designated as the cultural capital of the Turkic world for 2024. Throughout the year, the city will serve as a hub for cultural and scientific activities, attracting people from various backgrounds.
Anau, an ancient settlement, dates back to 4 millennia BC until the Middle Ages. In 1904, after American archaeologist Raphael Pumpelly discovered the ruins of Anau, the concept of "Anau culture" was introduced. Archaeological findings included preserved wheat grains dating back 5,000 years, as well as unique pottery and faience samples, indicating the advanced culture of the ancient Anau residents.
