During negotiations, Turkmenistan's Chairman of the Council of Elders, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, assured Tajikistan's President Emomali Rahmon of the continued education quotas for Tajik students in Turkmen universities. The positive dynamics of cooperation in the educational sphere were emphasized by both sides.
An example of this cooperation is the construction of a secondary school named after Makhtumkuli in Tajikistan's Dusti, in which Turkmenistan's President Serdar Berdimuhamedov participated in the foundation-laying ceremony last May.
The bilateral talks concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Center for Advanced Training of Diplomatic Service Workers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.
