A training session on greenhouse gas inventory, jointly organized by the UNDP and the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan, took place in Ashgabat. The event aimed to enhance the knowledge of specialists and experts from relevant agencies and ministries involved in data collection, indicator development, and national greenhouse gas emission reporting.
Participants of the seminar discussed ways to improve the national greenhouse gas inventory for land use, as well as changes in land use and forest management. Emphasis was placed on innovative methods for conducting greenhouse gas inventories.
The seminar will contribute to the country's fulfillment of its obligations under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Agreement on climate change.
